The Rich Getting Richer

Thyron Lewis

By Craig Robbins

August 15, 2013 (Inglewood, CA) — With an already all star-like roster, the Inglewood Blackhawks have added another weapon to its arsenal — the signing of Arena Football standout Thyron Lewis. Lewis has had experience on the semi- professional level, mostly notably with the Long Beach Lions and the Inglewood Blackhawks…so in essence, Lewis has come home.

In 2012, as a member of the AFL’s Cleveland Gladiators, Lewis caught 54 passes for 645 yards and 12 touchdowns in 13 games. Lewis aided the Blackhawks to an LCFL national championship in 2006 by defeating the Philly Panthers 20-14.

The signing is very George Steinbrenner-esque, adding another big name to an already stellar roster. And staying along the lines of the New York Yankees, GM Leon Williams has been doing an astonishing Brian Cashman (NY yankees GM) impression, signing some of the best talent this single season alone.

With the addition of Lewis, counterpart Solomon Jones is primed to potentially feast on opposing defenses even more, now that there is another weapon on offense to potentially stretch the field — yet, another potent offensive weapon on the ‘hawks that must be accounted for.
