Desert Chiefs Semi-Pro Football Team Goes Undefeated in First Year in Pacific Coast Football Conference

Desert Chiefs Only Undefeated Semi-Pro Team In Southern California

 (Indio, CA.—October 23, 2013)  Semi-Pro Football team, the Desert Chiefs have finished first and undefeated during their regular season of play in the Pacific Coast Football Conference. The Desert Chiefs just completed an undefeated season in their first season – winning the Pacific Coast Football Conference 9-0, knocking-off the undefeated and highly rated SoCal Apaches on the road 38-7.

The team is nationally ranked at number three in the western United States by American Football News Power Ranking (www.americanfootballnews.net). In addition, Semi Pro Talk, (www.semiprotalk.com) ranks the team 4th in Southern California.  As the newest team to join The Pacific Coast Football Conference (PCFC), the Desert Chiefs are league sanctioned and one of PCFC’s nine teams.   The Desert Chiefs won all nine games played so far this season and are top seeded for the post-season.

The Desert Chiefs will play in the League’s semi-final game on November 9th at a Coachella Valley location to be announced starting at 7pm. This is a “family-friendly” event with children admitted free and adult admission at $10. The winner will go onto the championship on November 17th at Granada Hills High School.

“It’s been an exciting first season for us. Our fans have followed us throughout Southern California,” says Rosie Welmas owner of the Desert Chiefs. Welmas is the first woman in the Coachella Valley to own a semi-pro football team and the Desert Chiefs are the first team in the Desert to finish the regular season undefeated.

Welmas is a well-known community leader. She is Founder of Rosie’s Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and their families afford activities like sports, art and music by offsetting the high cost of supplies and financial responsibilities to families. Rosie’s Kids help children become well-rounded individuals.
